NY Fashion Week F/W 2010: Ports 1961
I’m not reporting straight from the “tents” myself this season, but instead have a string of fabulous correspondents deep in the – snowy – trenches. I Heart Heels was invited to a few shows today at Bryant Park, and Ports 1961 was one of them. Unfortch, G. didn’t arrive into the city until it was too late (but thank you for the super-cute invite, Ports! it was a planner with Rosemary seeds and G. is using the planner as I type!), so I’ve been perusing the collection on Style.com instead. (I heard they filmed an epi of The City with Whitney Port and Olivia Palermo front and center at the show. I also heard there were sooo many chicettes waiting in line, not everyone got inside – ugh.)
Designer Tia Cibani’s collection is always much-anticipated, and this season brought plenty of tweed, gray and, er, big hair (which I wish I could pull off!). I completely heart this oversized gray frock here paired with knee highs and a simple clutch. Dramatic without saying too much, no? It reminds me of my fav sweater poncho a la Jessica Simpson (she wears it allll the time – you know that one, right?). So basic, yet so chic.
And we also saw lots of shine (think sexy satin), draping and, um, pink tights? Yep, this is a trend I’m still contemplating for fall. If I can do purple (last season), I can certainly do pink, right?
