Elle Magazine Style Director Kate Lanphear Takes on Armani Exchange Spring Ads
The summer I lived in New York, one of my fav shops was Armani Exchange. Especially, since we don’t have one here in town – sob. They’ve got some great pieces for pretty great prices, if you ask me. To this day, I still obsess over wearing a denim bracelet I got in a gift bag at a party for the new blue M&M, hosted by Wyclef Jean. Haha. Every time I wear the A|X bracelet, too, it reminds me of good times. Don’t you love pieces in your closet like that?!
The spring ad campaign is interesting to me for one because it was shot at the same location as the Coachella Music Festival (which, by the way, is something I will attend before I grow OLD-er), and also because Elle Magazine Style Director Kate Lanphear styled the campaign. So, it’s designed to look fun and youthful and effortless and cool like Coachella and much like the A|X brand. So, if I wear something from the new collection, will it make me look college-era again? Would love to knock a few years off…I’m just sayin’. Ah, to be young again and on my way to Coachella (ok, I’m finished daydreaming – for now).
“The aesthetic of the A|X Spring 2011 Collection was conceived around casual but sophisticated style and the modern influence of season-less, festival-chic dressing. The emphasis was not on major seasonal shifts but instead on creating looks that possess an overall truthfulness.” — Kate Lanphear
P.S. Look for the ads in major magazines this month!
