The alica + olivia by Stacey Bendet presentation during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week never fails to be a monumental extravaganza, and this year was no different. Hosted at the luxurious Plaza Hotel, the Fall/Winter 2011 collection took a cue from the 1920s with Gatsby-inspired styles adorned with lace, feathers, embroidery and pops of fur wherever it would fit. Flapper-inspired beaded dresses and high-waist skirts paired beautifully with thigh-high boots and platform pumps—lending a modern twist to the jazz-era pieces. Bold, geometric prints stood out without being overly fussy, and Stacey chose a pleasing palette of mostly burgundy, beige, copper, ivory and black hues.
Appropriately, ruby-red lips and vintage pearls elegantly completed the looks on display while Erika Spring of "Au Revoir Simone" played, and burlesque dancer "Hazel Honeysuckle" and A-list party-goers like Brittany Snow, Vanessa Hudgens and Kelly Rutherford mingled about the room. The DJ set was by Mia Moretti and electric violinist Caitlin Moe - and, yep, even they looked chic.
Editor's Note: We pretty much live for alice + olivia by Stacey Bendet every season, so it's no surprise how completely smitten we are with all of the glitz and glamour of this collection. We'll take all of the cropped jackets - and the sequin pants, please!
P.S. Isn't Stacey Bendet the chicest pregnant girlie ev-er? Props to her for wearing shimmer and the sickest pair of heels. Loves it.
