Whiny Wednesday: These Are a Few of My Favorite Things…
Welcome back, chic mamas! It’s been awhile, I know. Fashion Week is just absolutely crazy – so sorry to neglect you and your wee ones. little C. is doing fabulous – he’s learning something new every, single day. He now knows how to climb (we’ve been visiting the playground a lot lately!), point to his belly button/nose/ears/mouth/eyes/head, stack several blocks and place his shapes in his shape sorter (circle, star, etc.) Yes, he’s my little baby genius (I’m not partial, am I?)! This week, I’ve gathered a few of our fav products we’ve been sent to try. From shoes to spoons!
See Kai Run
Of course, I have to start with a pair of shoes, right? See Kai Run is our newest shoe discovery (if the genes soak through, little C. will have to like his shoes…). Funny story, real quick! When these came to our house, little C. took them from me and ran over and put them in the “shoe bin,” as we call it (we have a bin in the living room so no one has to wear their dirty shoes in the house where he plays). I thought this was just too cute, of course.
See Kai Run is a family-run business out of Seattle and all of the shoes meet the American Podiatric Medical Association’s rigorous standards for foot health and functionality. They’ve even been awarded the APMA’s prestigious Seal of Acceptance! I love the fact that they offer a soft-soled version of the brand called “Smaller.” This is what little C. wears right now, and they’re very high quality. You should totally browse their site if you haven’t already because they offer some of the cutest designs and colors out there. little C. now owns the “Joe” sandal in blue and I can’t wait for him to wear them to the beach this summer!
P.S. See Kai Run also offers organic socks – one of the only companies I’ve been able to find who does. I can only imagine how comfy these are on those little feet!
I’m such a Burt’s Bees fan myself, it’s no surprise I use it on little C. I love all of the natural ingredients, and this is one reason why it smells so amazing – like lemon! (Um, maybe I can “borrow” it from little C. sometime? Haha.) One reason this shampoo & body wash ($9) is so moisturizing is the main ingredient: coconut oil. It, along with sunflower oil and soy protein makes his skin buttery soft and doesn’t irritate his sensitive little skin. It’s also tear free – which is so important and something that is often overlooked. It’s free of parabens, too, unlike the popular Johnson & Johnson.
Nope, it’s not just a baby-carrying company…it’s feeding too (among other stuff!). Now, I’m not saying this product is revolutionary or anything – it’s a plate and two spoons. What I am saying is I like it and you probably will, too. The plate has a sturdy, rubber base (pretty much a given for a toddler), it’s dishwasher safe (another given) and best of all, the clover-like shape makes it easier to scoop up food. As of now, I’m still spoon-feeding little C. (he loves to be waited on like his mama, what can I say?), but I know this is going to come in handier and handier the older he gets. I also love how the dividers help divide the food – I know I personally don’t like my food to run together. Why would he, right? And the spoons are just his size so when he finally does decide to pick one up on his own, it will be much easier. Thank you Baby Bjorn – you just made my lunch much easier.
P.S. Check out all of the cool colors on the site!
