Cynthia Rowley and Cabochons for Spring
This past September, I was able to witness the Cynthia Rowley spring collection shown here up close and personal (here’s our runway review again as a refresher…one word review? LOVED!). It’s full of cabochons, and no, that has absolutely nothing to do with Mexico, haha. According to the great wikipedia, a cabochon is a gemstone that has been shaped and polished as opposed to faceted. Aw, yes, a gemstone! Now, we’re talking. Lots and lots of them! So chic, so girly and so mod, yet so completely cute.
I want to place my hands on one of these so terribly bad it’s not funny – I mean, don’t you just stare and stare at these pieces? Like the artwork that they are. I’m still not sure if I could pull of the skirt with my curves, but my not-so-curvy upper section could probably benefit from the nice shapes of this pretty shell, if ya know what I mean. It would pair so perfectly with a simple, black skirt. And, obviously, muted heels are a must with all the shapes and colors going on here. Cabochons take me away!
