Trend Alert! Stripes
Stripes…sigh.Is it possible to look good in them? Well, yes, of course, if you’re Miss Selena Gomez (who was recently wearing DVF). But, what about the rest of us? Honestly, I still can’t answer that. I am in love with stripes – just like this top Selena has on here. I heart it sooo much! But, it seems every time I buy something with horizontal stripes, I later end up regretting it. I look in the mirror and ask myself, what was I thinking??
I own a Michael Stars green striped cardigan I bought while in L.A., another blue and white Michael Stars v-neck I bought vacationing in Florida (do vacations make me think stripes look good?? haha!) and a black and gray J. Crew sweater, which I do, by the way, always get compliments on. Those stripes are much thicker, and so I think this might be the key for ladies tops. The darker the hue and the thicker the stripe, the more flattering. Although, a little bit of sheer like Selena’s top also helps take away the bulk. I’d like to hear your comments on how to look good in stripes! Let me know in the comments your experience with them because I haven’t given up my search just yet for the perfect striped top. (In fact, I’m searching for this DVF one as I type…)
P.S. A skinny bottom definitely helps when wearing a flowy blouse, and heels are always a bonus figure-flatterer. Obvi.
