I have to think that the alice + olivia Spring 2012 presentation is the equivalent of walking on sunshine. Stacey Bendet successfully transformed the Highline stages in the Meatpacking district into a world of whimsy complete with DJ Mia Moretti and violinist Caitlin Moe (which were SO awesome!) rocking out amongst clouds of cotton candy. A “shoe tree”, that couldn’t have been more perfect for the I Heart Heels crowd, or more celebratory for the first full line of a+o shoes we will be seeing next spring, had cameras in a craze.
This colorful place of beautiful blooms and bedazzled dresses was the fabulous spring collection that energetically channeled Stacey’s imaginative idea of a “Secret Garden.” Silhouettes and haute, high (actually super-high!) hair echoed a healthy dose of 1960s inspiration. Floral prints in vibrant shades and excessive accessories had the crowd in a gaze as they nibbled on divine mini cupcakes and sipped on Belvedere vodka and a frothy drink by The Coffee Bean. I happened to bump into Nicky Hilton who was enjoying one of those lovely blended beverages! Another famous face? Sophia Bush caused quite the frenzy when she walked in sparkling from structured shoulder to shoulder in one of my fave a+o jackets!
I also had a Gossip Girl moment when I spotted Tika Sumpter. She was nice enough to chat about the show for a minute, but wouldn’t reveal any secrets! I was totally okay with settling for a picture. Along with those lovely ladies who I had the pleasure of seeing, Kourtney Kardashian, LeAnn Rimes and Tinsley Mortimer also enjoyed this enchanting escape in the retro and vivid world of alice + olivia Spring 2012. Pretty sure we heart all of it.
