Bobbi Brown’s 1991 Lip Palette: Must-Have
Bobbi Brown has done it again! No, literally. She’s bringing back her famous lip shades. Squeal! It’s been 20 years since BB first burst onto beauty scene with her 10 brown-based (life-changing!) lipsticks. This season, she’s marking the celebration with the launch of the 1991 palette, shown here. The new palette includes the original 10, plus 10 brighter shades – ya know, for the modern woman.
I’ve listed all of the shades below and aren’t they all gorgeous? I’ve been trying out a sample of this palette for the last month or so, and it’s changed the way I do my make-up. I also own the BB eye shadow palette, and I’m seriously considering working in only palettes now – so easy!!! Every color I could ever want is right at my fingertips, and there’s even a mirror to apply it (because I am a woman on the go…). I live in the Salmon and Brown hues of 1991 (call me boring, but seriously, they’re classic) and am now embracing the Coral Gables and Lady Ruba. OMG – this is big for me, right? One of these days, I might be able to go for the Burnt Red or Berry Punch, but baby steps.
Cliche as it seems, I love how Bobbi’s palettes make me feel so pretty and confident. With the right color lipstick (and shoes, obvi…) a girl can conquer anything. The 1991 palette retails for $60 and is worth every penny of it. Trust me.
P.S. Here’s a little bit of extra info straight from Bobbi!
* How did you come up with the shades?
The new shades are all about options, and they’re a fun alternative to your everyday lip color.
* Can the shades be blended?
The shades looks great on their own, but they also blend beautifully. For example, Beige is a flattering neutral shade by itself but it can be mixed with a brighter color like Orange, Red, Atomic Pink or Watermelon to create a muted more ‘in-between’ shade.
