Herve Leger: Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week F/W 2012
Known for the infamous “bandage” dress, Max and Lubov Azria designed the fall Herve Leger collection with this dress as the foundation for the line. It’s a dark and edgy collection for next fall, which we’ve seen from some other shows over the past week as well. From leather harnesses that closed around the models’ shoulders and waists to the bird-like arms of blouses, you got the sense that these girls were in charge traipsing down the runway. A little empowerment coming from the designers, perhaps?
Knee-high gladiator boots made their way down the runway again, making even the sweetest of dresses look like showstoppers. I happened to LOVE the rust-colored dress with the feathered harness. Even with the leather and fur this look still came off as feminine and gorgeous. I’m not that big of a risk taker, but I immediately felt the need to obtain more leather and fur (priorities, girlies!) in my closet. Now, all I need is a slicked-back ponytail and a smoky eye, and I’m ready!
More patterns and prints were seen at HL as well. Snakeskin printed on leather with black fur, anyone? The collection isn’t for the faint at heart, it’s for that fabulous fashionista who wants to make a statement and is confident in what she wears. I’m now inspired to start thinking about how I can take more fashion risks next fall, and how I would look in a leather and fur harness. Chic, no?

Not sure if I could pull it off, but kind of loving the harnesses! 😉
