How I Wore My Heels: In the (Hot!) Summer
I don’t know about you, but we’ve got some serious heat down south. 111 degrees yesterday – holy wow. It’s rather disturbing (no, it really is!), and I can’t seem to stay cool enough. I’m a total yoga pants type and I’ve been wearing shorts to the gym. Shudder. I was so freaking glad to get this dress in the mail last week from a company I’ve long adored…Three Dots! They’re known for basics, and I used to own a few of their tees, so when I realized they carried much more (um, like this dress!), I squealed with pure glee. You can’t escape the heat, so you might as well wear 100-percent silk, right?? The teal color itself is gorgeous, so I thought pairing a simple cork wedge would do the trick. And, of course, I always like to have a little fun, so I added a metallic clutch and one of my new hair ties (from Kitsch) – in bright orange – to add a teeny splash of brightness.
If you wanna win two (!) sets of these awesome (no-pull!) hair ties (retail: $10-18 per set), just comment on this post and we’ll choose one winner at random Friday.
Yep, and here’s how I wore my heels:
*Silk satin keyhole dress gifted by Three Dots – so lightweight and comfy (and hello, hand-dyed); I’m a sucker for a drapey cut such as this. Remember to check the size chart as Three Dots runs a bit larger. Score.
*Cork “Fanny” wedges gifted by Nine West – The criss-cross style on these is adorable, but you might want to size up a half size to give those toes some wiggle room. Most cork wedges have just a cork wedge, so I’m loving how this cork is all over! Love the $99 price tag.
*Metallic logo clutch gifted by Tory Burch – I like to wear this bag with more subdued hues – there’s also a chain shoulder strap! Who would’ve thought of metallic with cork, but I like how they balance each other.
*Orange hair tie gifted by Kitsch – I’ve been dying to try these forever since I’m such a ponytail girlie. I’ve been missing out because I adore these. They even look cute piled on as bracelets! You can buy them in stores like Nordstrom, Anthropologie and Francesca’s…that is, if you don’t win these! 🙂
P.S. The only shaper I swear by (the honest truth) is the DKNY Body Perfect High-Waist Embrace. It really sucks everything in and smoothes it all out. Shhhh…don’t tell!
Disclaimer: Contest ends 8/3/12 at 5:00 p.m. CST. U.S. Only. Winner contacted via email and must respond within 3 days before another winner is chosen.
