Looking for a Gentle Cleanser?
As you know, I’m expecting. So once I found out, the cautious ol’ Virgo in me didn’t even think about continuing to use any beauty products with words I can’t pronounce. Obvi that’s a general rule of thumb, but even more so now. What do I do? I go to brands I know I can trust. Better safe than sorry, guys! If I could stock my bathroom with only a few brands, REN would be at the top of my list. It’s all around lovely, and so is the latest Rosa Centifolia foaming cleanser ($22). It’s a magnificent rose smell that I can’t imagine anyone not liking.
And foaming? That it does. The whole consistency is foam, so it’s extremely lightweight (maybe too much if you’re overly prone to acne). It makes the skin feel fresh and renewed afterwards and is so gentle, I don’t mind using on my eyes to remove makeup. It’s also known to reduce pore size. All this without the use of the nasties – detergent, parabens, sulfates and phthalates. It’s a very pure feeling after using this cleanser (if you’ve ever used Chantecaille Rosewater spray it smells and refreshes in a very similar way). And since I’m not using perfume right now, it’s nice to be able to pamper myself come shower time with some of the best, natural scents around. Makes me long for spring!
