Organic Makeup? Yes, Please!
As you know, I’m a worrywart, so multiply that times 1,000 when I’m pregnant and you have borderline nuts. Ok, halfway kidding. But that means I’ve set aside many of my beauty products that have even slightly unpronounceable ingredients, and replaced them with products as pure as can be – for the sake and baby and me. Neal’s Yard Remedies is one of my all-time fav brands, pregnant or not, so I love that I can continue to use their products. They’re so great!
Needless to say, when I found out they would be carrying organic makeup, I squealed quite a bit. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not over-the-top obsessive about having everything that’s organic touch my skin…but if I can use it a bit, why not? I’ve been using the Neal’s Yard organic makeup for the past couple of months, and the eye shadow ($18) is by far my favorite. I’m not huge into drama but I could never go without, so it adds just a subtle touch that I love (it does have a light-reflecting mica to add a touch of sparkle). What else I love is that it’s soooo soft going onto the lid…I can def tell a difference in the feeling versus other shadows. That’s because it contains rosehip seed oils and other nourishing beauty oils. And since the eye is a sensitive area, this is a major plus, gals.
The lineup also includes some amazing lip glosses ($16) in nine shades and they’re great at keeping the lips moisturized and once again very subtle colors. I love that I know these glosses are “safe” since so many lipsticks get a bad name for containing very icky products (I mean, lead, c’mon). And the mineral bronzer ($$26.50) has been a great summer product, but will wear really well into the fall and winter to bring some light to moi’s dull skin…I’m hoping it will make me feel human again. 😉 It’s infused with sweet almond, sunflower and avocado oils to create that perfect sunkissed look.
I think I’ll probably be packing my makeup bag with these goodies come hospital time in February!
