Um, in case you didn't know it, I have a slight obsession with designer Yoana Baraschi. I once saw her clothing front and center when she presented in the intimate setting of The Box at Lincoln Center, and at the end she even came out to greet everyone. Once I returned home, I scoured the racks at my local store that carries the line, and since I bought my faux wolf vest, I've been hooked ever since (I also own a lovely fuchsia dress that's just perfect for any special occasion). My rambling aside...Yoana has just launched a special dress to be sold in Anthropologie stores and online in collab with Conscious Commerce which was founded by Olivia Wilde and Barbara Burchfield. Conscious Commerce identifies the most interesting designers, and the best underserved, locally run, small organizations, and was formed as an alternative to fundraisers, and as a response to their generation's desire to participate in a movement towards mindful consumerism. Pretty cool, right? Even cooler is proceeds will go towards New Light India, a girl's school in the red light district of Calcutta.
With this special dress comes the 10-year anniversary of the YB brand, and we couldn't be more excited for her...I know even more great things are to come from the line! Besides the dress with Conscious Commerce, there will be a capsule collection in Anthropologie (and online) of 11 pieces, some of them shown here. I started to feel bummed I'll miss out because I'm pregnant at the moment, but then realized the maxi dress here in a larger size just might work wonderfully. (but I'm also tempted to scoop up that teal CC dress for post-baby...it's the most gorgeous color!)
Of course, all of the celebs showed up to the Bev Hills party in honor of this huge YB effort, and didn't Yoana herself look stunning?? (work that skirt!) All of the tousled waves have me with such HAIR ENVY. But enough about this already, it's time to head to Anthropologie, sisters...happy weekend! xoxo
