Holiday Gifts For Everyone
It’s that time of year…finally! I’ve been waiting and waiting for it to just get cold down south (the other day it reached 84 degrees!), voila. Today? Well, let’s just say it’s supposed to be sleeting and snowing (at the moment, I’m writing this the night before on pins and needles sorta hoping for that first tiny lil’ snow we usually get…and trust. It’s tiny.) Since it’s Thanksgiving week and Black Friday is, well, Friday, I thought I’d share with you my annual list of fav gift picks. Obviously I like to give the gift of beauty (beauty booty, as I call it), except when it comes to the little ones, because really beauty products are that added luxury that no one really finds themselves wanting to splurge on, but always enjoys. Am I right? Let’s get to it!
For the significant other?
Ralph Lauren POLO RED ($76)
Inspired by RL’s Car Collection (the bottle is bright red, mimicking the sleek curves of an automobile), this fragrance is meant to be prestigious, fiery and (duh) iconic. Honestly, I’ve never met a man who wasn’t excited about a bottle of Polo cologne (or Polo, anything, for that matter). RED is a woody, spicy fragrance great for the winter, and has notes of fresh grapefruit, spicy red saffron and deep red wood. Your love with love it.
For mama?
Tory Burch Eau de Parfum Spray ($62 for 1 oz.)
Tory’s taking over the beauty scene, and now has her first signature scent. Let me tell you, it’s ah-mazing. I took a trip to the TB store a couple of months ago when it first came out and the bottle is just as elegant. Rest assured, if you buy this for your mama, she’ll be jumping up and down. Here are the notes, which are fruity and bright: Neroli, Grapefruit, Cassis, Bergamot, Peony, Tuberose, Jasmine Sambac, Vetiver, Sandalwood. I know, this mama, sure wouldn’t have a problem receiving this chic scent in a bottle.
For dad?
GO 24-7 Men’s Grooming Collection ($13.95-18.95)
Let’s hear it for dad…the hardest of the bunch to buy for…can we all agree? Anyone’s dad doing No Shave November? Well, time’s almost up and I have the perfect gift come December. GO 24-7 has an amazing Men’s Grooming Collection with the best ingredients (and the scent of lavender ylang ylang!). It features face & bald shave cream; face & bald cleanser; face & bald moisturizer. There’s also haircare products that smell like ginseng and macadamia nut (odd maybe, but totally energizing and great!). A groomed dad he’ll now be.
For sista?
BareMinerals Double Domination ($18), Natural Luminous Trio ($49)
For holiday, BareMinerals always has a zillion gift sets…and they’re seriously THE best. If you’re not a fan yet, come holiday time (err, now), you will be. Since both my sister and I love all things beauty, I think any of these sets would be a great gift for her, but the Double Domination (a 10-in-1 volumizing mascara, plus a travel-size version) and Natural Luminous Trio (skincare) are two top contenders I picked out of the pack. Why? Who can resist a great mascara (or two!) – it’s a beauty routine essential – and this line’s skincare is above the rest, truly. It’s cleanser, moisturizer and eye cream…what every beauty gal needs.
For teens?
Burt’s Bees Party Lip Set ($14.99)
Burt’s Bees is a brand everyone old and young loves, no joke. And the availability (hello, Target) and price point makes it extra-easy to purchase. At $14.99, you can buy three of them! (and many of the holiday sets are just $9.99) You can’t beat that, and the fact that BB is a great, natural brand. (I think I own a huge bowl of their lip glosses I use every winter.) I like this set, in particular, because you really can’t go wrong with a lip gloss. And this one has both a pink and a neutral, so your teen can choose her fav. Nourishing oils…high impact shine…prettiest teen on the block! Impress those boys. 😉
Nautica Voyage 4-Piece Gift Set ($65)
Every teen boy loves a nice cologne and probably can’t afford one otherwise, so this gift set (available at Macy’s/macys.com) is amazing! Not only does it include a 3.4 fl. oz. Eau de Toilette Spray, but it has a a 2.5 fl. oz. Aftershave Balm, a 2.5 fl. oz. Shower Gel and 1.0 fl. oz Eau de Toilette Spray. Sooooo fancy, yes? And such a crisp, winter scent.
For kiddos?
Cardboard rocketship by Discovery Kids ($22 on Gilt)
If yours is like little C., he or she loves to make tents, hide in things, etc. This rocketship looks soooo cool, and since it’s cardboard, you can actually color it! It’s a whopping five-feet long with doors to go in and out, so you’ll have to clear some space. It even has a cockpit window and a crawl-through porthole. Pretty sure any kid will l-o-v-e this!
Color, color, color! That’s what ROMP toys are about a lot of times (we have several stacking rings we love), and this year’s Spirelli is pretty captivating (watch it in action here!). Colors cascade down a wire and the many discs make music and movement! So simple, yet so mesmerizing. (And I love how all of ROMP’s toys are free of chemicals.) P.S. Not for kiddos under 3, please.
For the in-laws?
Ralph Lauren Women’s Holiday Set ($47)
Everyone loves a gift set; it’s one of my fav ways of gifting those who are a little bit harder to gift because a set usually includes something they’ll like. This holiday season, I’m loving RL’s holiday set for women because it includes Romance, Blue and Ralph, all amazing scents. You can find this one at Macy’s, Ulta, Dillard’s and Bon-Ton. And the look of this set is pretty easy on the eyes as well. Bonus points.
