Whiny Wednesday: We Love Weleda
If there’s one baby item you need to stock in your cabinet, it’s the Weleda Calendula Diaper Cream…as simple as that. I’ve been a believer since day one with little C. and we still use this magic potion for any redness – anywhere! – that might appear. It’s natural with a soothing calendula flower extract, breathable beeswax and, of course, zinc oxide (which I think you need to have in the product for it to work, in my experience…no zinc oxide, no worky.)
As a first-time mom, it was all about experimenting with products, so that’s why I’m super-pumped to know this time around which ones are must-haves, and I’m happy to pass along this “insider info” to you. There are so many harsh formulas out there, and some might even work like a charm (ahem, Desitin), but I refuse to put those nasty ingredients on my baby. While others are incredibly good for baby, but, eh, don’t do much. Easy enough. So, once I finally got to know my labels, I found Weleda and a few other go-tos to keep stocked at all times. Luckily, little C. never had terrible diaper rash, but any redness at all, this cream will take care of within a day. It’s $14 and it lasts quite awhile!
Weleda has other products in their Calendula line, and we love shampoo and body wash ($13) as well. It’s gentle and has all the right ingredients. I like the organic part, and I like the gentle part. So important when they’re so, teeny tiny! I just can’t stand a teary baby in a bath…ugh…breaks my heart. According to the company, it’s tear-free so makes combing baby’s hair a cinch as well. Personally I’m hoping and praying she has hair…will keep you updated on that one!. 🙂
