Whiny Wednesday: Nom Nom
Kindergarten is now in full swing…wheeeeeee! And one of little C’s major adjustments to going to school all day (for preschool he did half a day) is eating lunch like a big boy in the cafeteria. (Although private school refers to it as the “dining hall.” Snicker.)
I myself am still adjusting to the lunch packing (so much pressure! what will his friends bring?!), and it takes me a solid hour to really complete it all. Not even joking. But I thought I’d show you exactly what he takes his lunch in because we
l-o-v-e these bags s’much.
Brown paper bags exist no more. In 2015, these kids have the coolest “lunch boxes.” Zoli is a fav brand of ours (little L uses the cups), and when I saw they had an orange lunch bag, I knew immediately little C would swoon over it. It’s pretty much been his fav color since he could say the word orange.
This insulated lunch tote is actually referred to as the “Nom Nom.”
Such a fun name! It’s canvas on the outside and it has an adjustable divider on the inside. I like to separate his almond milk from the rest of his food. We use the Dine insulated food jar they also offer to put fruit and cheese in to keep cold. I don’t even feel like I need a cold pack because it stays so cold. It’s quite amazing. I also love it’s PVC and lead free!
It’s so important to have another on rotate and we love the Stephen Joseph fire truck lunch box.
Ever since little C took a summer safety class he’s been obsessed with all things emergency vehicle. This is another fully insulated lunch box (wouldn’t have it any other way) and includes a pocket and Velcro strap to hold his milk. You can even personalize the front of it…SO cute. (We didn’t do that…for now we’re using our Mabel’s Labels. More on that next week!) And this box is free of all the nasties as well – no BPA, phthalates or PVC. That deserves plenty of squeals!
P.S. I literally made him heart-shaped sandwiches today. I can’t *wait* to see what he thinks.
