Fashion Week: Leifsdottir
Brought to you by the uber-talented design team at one of my fav stores – Anthropologie – is Leifsdottir. I was so upset when I learned they showed at Fashion Week the last day – the day I would be on a plane back home. But I was glad when photos of the fall collection popped up in my inbox this week – beautiful!
In case you’re wondering (I was!), the name means “daughter of Leif” and is a nod to design director Johanna Uurasjarvi’s Finnish heritage. The collection is meant to be the sister of Anthropologie with its own style and point of view.
Fall travels to an ancient monastery, which results in a “dark, mysterious fairytale of wearable luxury.” Think structured coats. Peplum pencil skirts. And tons of ruffles, pleating and hand-embroidery I’m absolutely ready to gobble up. Hues of gold, cooper and crimson berry mix with brown and violet to bring the legend to life. Prices range from $68 to $628, and I’m completely digging the military-inspired jacket above.
Onward to Anthropolgie!
