NY Fashion Week F/W 2010: Christian Cota
Christian Cota was yesterday afternoon and Twitter was all abuzz with how amazing the presentation looked. Oy vey – so downtown cool. Check out the bangles on the model above – amazing styling! (And to think I got rid of my fringe bangs last month – sigh…) H. saved the day again when she covered this one too, and she loved every minute of it. Christian Cota is one of today’s brightest “emerging” designers (he designed that beautiful dress Carrie Underwood wore to the People’s Choice Awards) – although he seems to have already emerged to us!
Here’s a little bit of what the collection embodies from the designer himself:
“Christian Cota seizes inspiration from the Cubist way of seeing. Perspectives multiplied – and collapsed. Organic forms disassembled and puzzled back together angle by angle.”
H.’s thoughts?
“It is a beautiful way of mixing patterns, draping, shapes and textures. Think huge chunky bold bracelets and necklaces that have been stacked and layered. Big belts, bold stripes and amazing patterns in Ochre, Crimson, Copper, Purple and Onyx, will mix up the look for fall.”
