NY Fashion Week: The Hilton New York
One of my fav parts about going somewhere exotic (hello, Fashion Week!) is picking out the hotel, and my sis, G., is the very same way. (Mom says it’s her fault for loving nice things and she instilled it in us! Our husbands just shake their heads and sigh…) So, when G. covered Fashion Week this past week, we both searched for a hotel she would love (and, ahem, get points for staying there!). Our choice? The Hilton New York (made famous by our fashion-loving friends Paris and Nicky).
Located at Rockefeller Center (the 10 blocks or so were a trek to Bryant Park in the literally blizzard-like weather, so G. admits she snuck in a cab or two – brrr!!), the view from the room was incred-ible!! G. says she looked out her window every morning and could even catch a glimpse of the park (that’s, ahem, Central Park). She also had access to the 44th floor, which is (drumroll, please) the Executive Lounge – a.k.a. lots of yummy snacks and drinks (needless to say, she stopped there in between shows to fill up whenever she could!). Her room was recently renovated with the plush uber-comfy bed Hiltons are famous for, and she frequented the business center often (convenient) to check her e-mail on those lovely invites that kept coming her way (hey, I tried not to bug her too much, but thought I would check in!). So, what did G. really think of the trip? She’s crossing her peeptoes I invite her back! Until next season…
