Whitney Port of The City Answers Our Burning Questions!
We’ve been a HUGE fan of MTV’s The City from Day 1. In fact, we were a big fan of Whitney Port from Day 1 on The Hills. She’s so completely girl-next-door, how could you not like her, right? She went from working at a teen magazine to public relations and now to fashion designer (soooo sad we missed her Whitney Eve show at Bryant Park!), so, naturally we fell in love with Whitney all over again. Last night marked the season premiere of The City, so we sat down with Whit to ask her our need-to-know-now questions!
IHH: What is life really like in the city – do you go shopping a lot, out to eat, what do you do for fun?
WP: Life in the city is always bustling and at times super overwhelming. I always find time to walk around a lot. If it is nice out, I will walk anywhere and everywhere. However, I hardly shop, and if I do, my two fav spots in NY are Topshop and Opening Ceremony. I eat out moderately. For fun, I have drinks with friends, picnics in the park and walk around a lot.
IHH: Anything juicy you can reveal about this season?
WP: Lots of catfights, fun fashion parties and an in-depth look at what goes into designing a line.
IHH: Will you show again at NY Fashion Week?
WP: I would love to do a presentation for my next collection, but will probably not show at the tents again.
IHH: Describe your fav piece in your latest collection.
WP: I absolutely adore these eggplant color velour slacks [shown here]. They are super comfy, ultra-chic and can be dressed up or down.
IHH: Tell us about your shoe collection – how many pairs and your fav style heel? What size do you wear?
WP: I loooove shoes, but have never actually counted how many I have! My fav style heel right now are ankle moto boots. I am a 7.5, kind of small for my height and probably why I always fall!
IHH: Do you plan to stay in the city forever?
WP: No, my heart belongs to L.A. because of the family and friends I have there.
