Of course, you know we're celeb-obsessed at I Heart Heels (we once stalked Rob Thomas at a gas station! kidding...ok, not kidding...), so our newest fav store is none other than L.A.'s ARCADE Boutique. This place is gorgeous (see above!) and celebs are absolutely crazy about it. If only to be in L.A. Sigh...I recently sat down to chat with the owner, Rochelle Gores Fredston (former field merchandiser for Scoop NYC), to get all the fashionable deets.
On celebrities who shop there frequently...
Nicky and Paris Hilton
(Psst...the show was actually featured on Entourage just recently, too)
On which lines the celebrities loooove...
Preen (isn't the Cropped Moto Jacket below sooo freaking cute? It's on sale for $188 - a steal for Preen!)
Parker Ochs handbags
Inhabit (these tees are out-of-this-world soft!)
Plus, anything fur or costume jewelry.
On ARCADE's collab with famed jeweler Neil Lane...
Rochelle and Neil are actually good friends and designed a collection of alphabet letters. You can choose diamonds, engraving (or both!), and rose, yellow or white gold.
About the labels sold at ARCADE...
The store tends to carry hard-to-find-designers and lots of exclusives like the current cropped fur vest by Adrienne Landeau. ARCADE also has a private label collection of basics like leggings, camis and tees. (More to come on that next month, and it's exciting!) There's also an exclusive shoe of the season, and this season's just happens to be a mint-green suede over-the-knee high-heel boot (swoon).
On store events...
Usually once a month, Arcade hosts an event for a local charity and the next big event, The Autumn Party, will be Sept. 29. It will raise funds for Children's Institute Inc. (CII) in L.A., an organization dedicated to helping children and families affected by domestic abuse.
About the ARCADE experience...
"[The store] caters to the woman who wants to dress beautiful, sophisticated, chic and sexy," says Rochelle. And it's all about the making the customer feel at home, that's for sure. ARCADE offers personal shopping, tailoring, package delivery and, get this, in-room hotel services.
And on Rochelle's personal style...
"It's very rare I'm in flats," she says. "My style is sophisticated, chic and sexy, and I think a woman should always dress like a woman."
When asked another store opening, she casually responded with "we'll see," so East Coasters, keep your fingers crossed!
