Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week S/S 2011: Charlotte Ronson
Out of all of the shows at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week this season, I think I most looked forward to the Charlotte Ronson collection. Seriously. There is always so much hype, it seems, over this show, and I wanted to see it for myself (plus, you know I love a good celeb spotting now and then!). Charlotte’s style is much more laid-back than other designers, and so it def makes it easy to watch (I was practically picking out what I could see myself hanging up in my own closet!). From the opening poppy silk slip dress to the last look, a black silk embroidered tank with ruffle sleeves paired with a black silk embroidered long skirt with tiered ruffles, each look that headed down the runway caught my attention. It was a mix of floral, khaki and chambray with a hint of soft yellow and classic black. I nearly died when I saw the silk romper paired with a plaid oversized shirt and grannie booties (with black leather cutouts, no less). So CR. The mix of chambray with silk was amazingly genius, and anything black, of course, I would totally wear.
