Decades and Modern Vintage Collab
Hello, spring…it’s coming, y’all!! Obvi I live down south and it’s a complete dream today (aka sunny and 70 degrees….loves it). I’m dreaming of spring shoes as I type this – and guess what? Vintage expert Cameron Silver of Decades and one of my fav shoe brands Modern Vintage are collaborating next month, available exclusively via Gilt.com for the first two weeks. And can you say omg-worthy shoes?
“I wanted to create a coherent and cohesive collection that tells footwear history in a very contemporary way. Modern Vintage is an amazing brand in that they make stylish shoes at a more accessible price-point. These are elevated, convertible styles that will fit effortlessly into any woman’s closet.” — Cameron Silver, Decades
The concept behind this collection is based around selecting and referencing the four most appropriate decades throughout history where the most iconic footwear was introduced and updating them for the modern woman. There’s something for everyone – from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. I don’t know about you, but I’m really digging the 50’s-inspired-curved-heel above, made popular by Roger Vivier. And you can wear an ankle strap with the shoe, or remove it! The colorblocking of metallic and sherbet hues (a la Pucci and the 60’s) on the t-strap in the bottom photo is absolute perfection. This is def a collaboration I can stand behind (um, in my colorblocked platforms, obvi…)
