What’s in Your Box?
Lately, I’ve received a lot of boxes lately. Being a fashion and beauty blogger, yes, I do constantly receive packages at my doorstep (major perk, and mhmm, I do know the delivery guy…and he knows not to ring the doorbell during little C’s nap, wink.) But, this time, the boxes delivered have been even more fun to open – if that’s at all possible. We’re talking way cute here…can I tell you about them? You’re gonna want one…or two…or three…
Birchbox (only $10/month, ~6 products)
I first heard about the new phenom of receiving a sampling of hand-picked beauty products via mail when I attended Lucky‘s FABB Conference in New York. I immediately became enamored.
One of the speakers at the conference was Birchbox co-founder Katia Beauchamp. The Harvard Business School grad is smart as a whip, and so inspiring (wish I could come up with something so clever!). Needless to say, when I received my very-first Birchbox a few months ago, I was over the moon. It came in a ribbon-tied box that was packed so neatly, and made me feel so special (hey, it’s the little things). Several months later, I’m still using some of the products, but I pretty much depleted the Kerastase shampoo and Stila mascara immediately. I just love how everything is trial-sized – they’re such little gems to receive each month! And the brands are amazing (as you can see). I really think my fav part of this whole beauty product delivery thing is being able to sample so many different brands – it’s sooo fun! 🙂 And you just can’t beat the price on this one…
GLOSSYBOX ($21/month, ~6 products)
Last month, I was sent my first GLOSSYBOX to try. Another winner! (of course, I am a major sucker for these types of things…) It also arrived in a super-cute ribbon-tied box and was filled with some of my fav brands. Hot-pink nail polish (Kiss Me on My Tulips) from OPI (which I’m now wearing on my toes!); an amazing cucumber tea eye gel from Basq (that I’m currently wearing before bed each night on my eyes…soooo cooling and refreshing!) and a gorgeous lip shine (in toffee) from Kryolan that I love! It also came with C.O. Bigelow lotion, CARGO EyeBronzer and Erno Laszlo creams. What’s more, Glossybox.com just launched this month, so you can start your own subscription right now!
Goodebox ($16 per month, ~6 products)
I love, love, love the concept on this one! Goodebox provides trial-sized healthy, eco-sensitive, beauty products, with occasional samples of natural and organic health and wellness products. Right up my alley! I received my first Goodebox just last month (it’s not quite as fancy on the packaging, but you get why, right?), and I was pleasantly surprised. One of the best products I’ve tried in forever came from this box, and I’m so thankful! It was the Josie Maran Cosmetics Bear Naked Wipes, and I love. these. wipes. Sometimes, I admit I get a little lazy in my bedtime routine. These paraben-free wipes felt so good on my face and was so easy to use, I didn’t feel guilty at all. Sometimes wipes like these work just as well as old-fashioned soap and water!
The Goodebox also included alima PURE shimmer blush and powder; Clairvoyant Beauty depuffing cucumber & cranberry eye gel (love as well) and an oil/facial serum; and a grapefruit cleanse/balm and detox face mask by Stark Skincare. So many great products, to be honest, I’m still sampling them all! What’s also cool is that this box was curated by Kristen Arnett, a celebrity green make-up artist.
Now that you’ve read about them all – which one will you try?
P.S. If you have kids, wittlebee.com looks adorable. It’s $39.99 per month, but contains about $100 worth in retail of clothing (of amazing brands, might I add). Itching to try it myself!
