A Gift Guide for the Girls

Happy Monday after a loooong freaking weekend! Was it a good one for you? It was for me...lotsa turkey, a new (fresh) Christmas tree, tons of family (both sides) and a sprinkling of (online) shopping. Wink. As I mentioned last week, I'm mostly finished with my holiday shopping...hooray, hooray! But, for those are you who are still searching for the perfect gifts for the girlies in your life, look no farther. I get asked all the time, "what is the new "it" thing to buy someone?" And I love answering this question because I always have tons of great ideas! Here are just a few of my suggestions this season.

For your sister
Laguna Rain Boot by Ahnu ($160)

Rain, rain don't go away...we want our sis to wear her new rain boots every day! The Laguna rain boot by Ahnu is truly fashion meets function. Available in black, golden brown and winetasting, there's a hue for everyone. (We personally love to splash around in our black pair on those non-heel, rainy days!) The patent design is what makes it so easy on the eyes, but the side-zip design is what makes it super easy to slip on and off (love. this.)! It also includes the brand's signature Numentum technology designed to keep the heel centered and balanced. Don't we wish most of our heels were this way?? :)

For your best friend
Obakki Signature Red Scarf ($29)
A scarf that does good? Sign us up! And I'm sure your BFF would approve as well. 100 percent of the proceeds of these Obakki scarves goes towards the drilling of water wells in South Sudan. What a great gift that gives back, no? This scarf is a lightweight modal blend in the most gorgeous pop of red I've ever seen in a scarf...really and truly! It's sure to brighten up any outfit...but I bet it would look extraordinary with black! Or to throw on over that holiday sparkle...

For your niece
butter LONDON Nail Lacquer in Shag ($14)
If there's one thing teenage girls go gaga over (ok, all of us girls, fine!), it's nail polish. And I've recently discovered butter LONDON goes on like (dare I say...) butter. It's really hard for me to like a nail polish brand, believe it or not, and this one gets the IHH stamp of approval. I'm especially fond of this fall "Shag" shade, which is a "warm orange-burgundy metallic reminiscent of fallen Autumn leaves." What's not to love about that? Wear into the holidays and show off that shine!

For your mother-in-law
Skyn Iceland Quench Kit ($45)
Oh my gah...I'm soooo in love with the brand Skyn Iceland, I would def have a hard time parting with this gift, ha. In fact, every night lately I've been using my own jar of Oxygen Infusion Night Cream before bed (you can use the Arctic Hydrating Balm in the morning) and it's top of the line superb. Now that it's almost empty, I'm sweating. Gotta get another jar fast! The Icelandic Eye Pen is also a gigantic genius invention. Hello...it's never been easier to refresh (err, quench) your skin. There's also a cleanser in the kit - a must. All of these products are infused with mineral-rich (Icelandic) glacial waters and it's pretty evident upon use. Some folks are against giving anti-aging or skincare products like this as gifts? Not me! My mother-in-law loves gifts like these (she has the dry skin that's great for this, too), and thanks me again and again when she receives them. A great way to pamper her, for sure. P.S. This kit is a one month's supply. She'll soon be addicted. :)

For your sister-in-law
Stila Snow Angel Color Palette (on sale for $28!)

With 12 cheek colors and 18 eye shadows (that can be worn wet or dry...and in fun color names like "cookie" and "eggnog"), this snowflake-designed palette is truly the perfect gift for the makeup lover in your family. It also comes with a Stay All Day waterproof mascara and a step-by-step book filled with tips. There are so many fun colors to experiment with - and find your perfect match. Your sister-in-law will love you forever with this gift, I promise!

For your mother
Kitsch "I Luv Me" Necklace & Earrings Set ($38)
This charm collection just released from my favorite hair tie brand, Kitsch, is incredibly charming, indeed. (They have some amazing sparkly hair ties for holiday right now, too, by the way!) There are many charm options...in sterling silver or 14 karat gold dipped brass...but my fav is the "I Luv Me" set (I do have a thing for hearts, if you couldn't tell). It's as sweet as pie - dainty as can be, just like your mother, yes? The tiny heart charm is on a 16-inch chain and the studded earrings are right on trend right now. Wouldn't this make the sweetest (chicest) gift...and maybe cross out the "me" and write "you." Just say it was all your idea...I don't mind! :)

For everyone else
Clarins Feed 10 Kit from Sephora ($40)

This is, by far, is one of the cutest gifts of the season. Who wouldn't love it?? I'm a sucker for any FEED bag - I own multiple! (I love to use my big one to get groceries...if I can remember!) Founded by Lauren Bush Lauren, FEED bags are an amazing way to give back. This bag? The sale of each of these particular pouches will provide 10 nutritious school meals through the United Nations World Food Programme. It comes filled with goodies, too, all intended to "perfect" your complexion free of parabens and phthalates! You get: Beauty Flash Balm; UV Plus HP SPF 40 Day Screen High Protection; Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch; Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in Rose...all in an adorable red pouch. Today I used the lip perfector and fell in LOVE.
